Designing a new website that will scale and change as new business shifts the need for a new direction
Role:
UX Designer
Client:
BSO Digital
BSO Digital are a website development & design agency looking to develop a new website that showcases their services, portfolio, and expertise to attract potential clients. The site should represent our company's brand identity, with an emphasis on modern design, user experience, and functionality.
Create a simple and frictionless experience for website visitors. How this will be achieved is through the objectives set by the client.
Identifying the competitors of a digital agency can depend on several factors, such as the specific services they offer, their target market, their geographical location, and their level of expertise.
It's important to conduct a thorough competitive analysis to identify specific competitors in the market and understand their strengths, weaknesses, and marketing strategies. This can help a digital agency better position themselves in the market and differentiate their services from their competitors.
The target audience includes businesses and organisations of all sizes in need of digital marketing and web development services. Clients typically range from startups and small businesses to large corporations and non-profit organisations.
After lots of consideration, the customer journey for a BSO involves a complex and iterative process that requires effective communication, collaboration, and trust-building between the agency and the customer.
The current website is visually appealing and has a strong focus on showcasing the depth of 11 independent services on offer. The client wanted the new website to focus on a minimal, "to the point" solution.
After a couple of collaborative sessions with the client the design approach I took is to do more with less. In my experience talking with end users often times they don't fully understand what a lot of these services mean. Talking to the business clients they usually want one or two things, to build or grow their website. This informed me enough choose the new "to the point" direction for the website.
Engagement
A year after going live the website is performed positively and continued to grow as the year went on.

Designing with direct business impact in mind presents unique challenges compared to other projects I've undertaken. I understand the critical importance of maintaining perspective throughout the process. Adopting a 'to the point' approach became my guiding principle, streamlining design decisions while ensuring that the needs of end users remained my primary focus.
